Migration, Memories,
& Misty Eyes
— A note from Matt and Eleanor —
Old Habits, New Endeavors
Our first baby—Sweet Baby Buttonwood—has grown so big and so clever these 16 years that she’s outgrown our cozy little nest!
And since there are still bits of of life we’d like to explore and build and savor, Buttonwood Farm has left our nest: off to her next chapter. Her remaining board of owners will be looking after her in the same community where it all started.
But that doesn’t mean we’re hiding out, and, frankly, we’ve found our farming habit hard to shake! So we’ve begun to unfold what we hope will be a simpler and more spacious next chapter for ourselves, as well. We’ve migrated east, and are dreaming new dreams at Bellecroft, our new family farm (nearer to our STL family).
And we’re staying festive, but instead of turkeys this Thanksgiving, we’ll be personally peddling Christmas trees and holiday cheer at Homegrown Trees, Matt’s family’s tree lot in STL. Hope to see you there!
We wish you all the very, very best, and cannot even begin to find words to accurately express our gratitude for all the years of sparkling support our incredible customers, team, fellow farmers, and communities have shown us.
In fact, the best we can offer are misty eyes, and a warm, fuzzy, hopeful feeling as we look toward our next chapter, knowing that our first baby (Little Buttonwood) has such potential setting off, that we’ve learned lots (SO, so much) along the way, and that we’ve built some genuinely beautiful memories and friendships along the way.
Onward, y’all!
All the glimmers,
Eleanor + Matt
